Jerry retired from the Huntsville Police Department in 2010 where he served as principal accident reconstructionist from 1998 until his retirement and worked with the Major Crimes Unit as a Crime Scene Investigator. He began working in the private sector in 2000 and has investigated over 3000 crashes.
In 2006, Jerry was assigned as the Principal Investigator of a collision involving a school bus. During this investigation he worked with the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the root cause of the crash. Jerry has also assisted or worked in conjunction with the Alabama State Troopers, Madison County Sheriff's Office, multiple local agencies and US Army Military Police.
Jerry has taught Forensic Mapping and crash scene investigation in Alabama, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. He received his accident reconstruction training from the Institute for Police Technology and Management at the University of North Florida. His training in Commercial Vehicle Accident Investigation began and IPTM and has continued with courses sponsored by Northwestern University
